Mobile Catering Fish and Chips Van Business

by mr west

I would like to start a mobile fish and chip van driving around a densely populated 10 mile radius from my home. In the day very industrious and busy, and in the evening’s supply to family homes. What licence do I require and will this be allowed?

Mobile Catering Fish and Chip Business

Hi There,

I would first contact your local council and see if they have any objections, and if this is something they will allow in a built up residential area.

They will also have information on what licence is needed, if any and if a street trading licence is required.

I think mobile fish and chips is a good idea it just requires some level of planning as you can't be driving round with boiling hot oil on the go.

Maybe if you were to set up on a pitch with in the vicinity, take phone orders and then deliver via a car or moped, this may present you with a better opportunity.

Anyway here is useful post regarding starting a fish and chip catering business

Best of luck and do keep us all updated!

Regards
David
