Do I Need to Show Gas and Electric Certificates to Environmental Health?

by Jim

Hi just got a private bit of land for my mobile food van business and environmental health are coming out to check the van.

The catering van has both gas and electric appliances, and i have gas certificates but no electric certificates. My question is do I need to show it to the visiting environmental health officer?

Electric and Gas Safety Certificates
by: David

Hi Jim,

The environmental health officer will not ask to see any Gas/Electric certificates for your food vehicle, they are mostly interested with seeing an up to date food and hygiene certificate. And to make sure that you are following food safety and hygiene protocols, so you should not worry.

The Gas and Electric certificates are more important when you get yourself a pitch, the landowner or event organisers will probably want to see them and make sure that your vehicle is safe to use on their site.

David
