Setting up a Piaggio Coffee Van at Car Park Station

by laura
(Surrey)

Do you know who I would contact to set up a pitch at a small railway station car park in surrey? Tickets for parking are bought at the station so would i get in touch with them?

Also there is a location on the roadside which has free parking for two hours, would I need to contact the council about setting up there?
Thank you in advance.

Hello Laura,

Your first contact should be with the railway station to find out if they own the car park land. If they don’t they may ask you to contact the council or another landowner if it’s privately owned.

Also, be aware that you may have to apply for planning permission for “change or use” before you can start trading legally. As for parking on a 2hr free parking zone, it’s is unlikely that they will grant you permission to us one of these bays, but again you will need to contact the local council about the possibility of setting up.
