Catering Van Deliveries Within a Larger Area

At the moment I deliver Indian wraps & snacks on a Thursday only to a few local companies as I work the other days, but what I would really love is going around like a sandwich van does in my own van (when & if I get one) but selling my snacks, say to different industrial parks on different days, which would cover some of Surrey & Berkshire, does anyone know what sort of licences I would need & how to go about this. Hi Julie,
You will firstly need to register your food business with the local council; this will trigger an inspection and visit. If you intend to prepare the food that you wish to sell in your own home kitchen this will have to meet commercial kitchen standards just like any other food business.

It all depends on the type of foods that you intend to store, prepare and cook, so it best that you contact your local council for best advice. If you intend to deliver the food to different locations, you may also need a trading license from the council and then possible permission to enter each Ind.Est, but in most cases you may not. Again just confirm this with your local council as each one has their own requirements.
