Wanting to Start a Mobile Catering Business for Many Years Now

Hi There

I have wanted to do mobile catering for many years now and have reached the grand old age 40..lol.

I had my 1st child Tyler 2 yrs ago and have been completely uninspired by any employment available out there.

1 is the want to spend as much time as possible with Tyler and 2 term times etc.

After reading your story and thank you for being on a nice understandable and real level, I am going ahead.
BAKED POTATOES!!

I have £5000 to play with and truly want this to work as would set me up for 20yrs.
So, I guess 1st move is to check out location availability?

Did you literally just turn up and hope for best? lol.

For the long-term I would love to own and run my own baked potatoes business eventually hiring 1 or 2 people and it would be nice to have it on a 5 day week.

Hi Katie,

That's right - start by searching out any suitable location near where you live - from here contact the landowner to see if they will give you permission to trade, and keep doing this until you get a suitable pitch.

And "yes" I really did just turn up and start selling on my First Day of Business not the best of plans but at least it got me started and the business moving.
