To Gas Safety Certify or Not

by Ron
(Dunster)

I have a newly purchased horsebox trailer which has an electrical certificate already but not a gas certificate. The previous owner used a loose gas hop and bottle with flexi hose connection so not an installed solution.

My question is, do I need to hold a certificate for this or because the item is not fitted, is it exempt?

LPG Gas Cerfificate HorseBox Trailer

Hi Ron,

Your catering vehicle still needs to have a valid gas safety test certificate. The siting of the gas bottle seems to be the concern. It’s a legal requirement to have all catering equipment installed and inspected by a Gas Safe Engineer. All catering equipment should also have a CE mark

Check the Gas Safe Register for an engineer near you. Search for recommendations from others that have used reputable LPG engineer.

Best of luck,
David

p.s If you get stuck or can't find an engineer please book a mobile catering engineer here
