Pricing of Food At Large Events

by Michelle

Hi,

I am seriously considering buying a catering trailer and have found your website and Q&A page to be really useful, thank you.

I have noticed that a lot of different businesses at the same show/event.

Including the ones with multiple large trailers and the individual businesses, all seem to sell their food and drinks at the same prices, and I am wondering if I would be expected to match them.

I happen to think their prices are over inflated and as I would have lower overheads than the "big boys" I don't feel the need to charge such high prices.

Would there likely be any implications for me if I went to the same events and charged lower prices?

Many thanks
Michelle

High Prices Charged At Festival and Catering Events
by: Anonymous

Hi Michelle,

You will probably find that you will also have to charge the same high prices to cover your cost and rent for that period. It may seem that they are charging a lot but some of the big events charge mobile caterers thousands a day to rent a pitch for a busy event.

Best of luck

David
