Need Urgent Advice Please - Mobile Catering Business

by suraj
(southall, middlesex, london)

I am planning to start a mobile catering business for which I have secured a site in private land in front of a superstore.

Somebody is selling me a wooden small wooden box, in which I intend to make some snacks.

I have also bought a small fryer, induction hob and a sandwich maker (all electrical equipment no gas)

Now the problem is that I do not know whether I can run a mobile catering business from a wooden made box or not.

I don’t want someone from council and stop me even before I start making money.....please advice the best solution.

Shall I go ahead and pay for the wooden box (6ft by 6ft) or buy a proper catering trailer.

No Wooden Box For Catering Trailer
by: David

Hi Suraj

I would strongly advise you to purchase a properly constructed catering trailer, if you plan to start your business for the long term.

Using a wooden box is not the best way forward and not the safest from a health and safety viewpoint (fire hazard).

I also think it may prove difficult to get insurance for this type of cooking facility. Do go ahead and pay for a catering trailer and don?t waste your time with a wooden box.

Best of luck

David
