Mobile Catering Start Up

Just thought I would let you know that I have nearly completed 6 weeks trading now in Middleton Manchester and everything is going really well.

For my 1st day of trading I took £45 so I thought that wasn't too bad. Ever since then takings have improved on every previous week so we are delighted with that.

On average takings have gone up 11% each week. But it's not easy and takes a lot of hard work. One problem that I do encounter is that my toaster absolutely drains my lpg generator so I try to encourage just barm cakes, but I will have to buy a gas grill I think. Unless anyone has any other ideas that could help. But all in all things are going great.

Hi Mark,

That's great news, well done and congratulations for making it to your first day of business. I’m sure going forward; you will make a complete success of it.

As for the problem of toast and toasters, these do use a lot of power by means of the generator. However if you have a standard griddle you can easily place the bread on the griddle to make great tasting toast. I found this out by accident, but believe it or not, it comes out quite nice. You can then add butter while it’s still on the griddle and other fillings if you want.
