Is it legal to use a Caravan or Boat LPG cooker in my catering trailer?

by Steve

Hi,

I'm looking to install an LPG gas hob in my catering trailer. I've found many commercial counter top options, generally for over £400. However, I could buy a full caravan LPG cooker, or counter hob system designed for a boat for between £100-200.

Is there any reason I can't do this or could be scrutinised?

Domestic Vs Commercial Appliances
by: David

Hello,

Domestic and leisure appliances are designed for light use with small pans, commercial are designed for heavy commercial use with larger pans, the domestic and leisure appliance manufacturers instructions will state their appliances aren’t designed for commercial use, the challenge an inspecting engineer could make is that the appliance is being used against manufacturers advice and is not fit for purpose.

Best of luck

David
