Is An Online Food and Hygiene Certificate Sufficient

The council have advised of a few places where I can take the hygiene course and the fee varys from £50-60.

Thses courses are also available online, you take the course at home and if you pass they send you the certificate within 2 days, the fee for this is only £25. Are these dodgey or will they still be recognized as a valid qualification?

Online Food and Hygiene Course
by: Anonymous

Hi Daniel,

There are many places now that provide online food and hygiene courses and the reason that they are cheaper is that they don’t have a teacher present to explain the course to you.

If you learn better in a classroom environment then book a course with your local council. But if you want to pay half the price and don’t mind learning at your own pace in front of your computer then the online option is for you.
If you’re not sure if the online course you’re taking is legitimate ask your local council if they provide any or can recommend any online food and hygiene courses.

Hope this helps you out and please keep us updated to help other people with this question.

Regards
David

p.s check out www.ncass.org.uk who also provide these kinds of online courses
