Hi I have brought a 240v 4.4Kw electric Griddle of Ebay.It came with no plug and when i asked the seller about this told me that it must be hard wired...

My question would be can i hard wire this griddle into my catering van or have i brought a dud?

I am new to the mobile catering industry so please forgive my ignorance :)

Griddle Hook Up
by: David-

Hi Bill,

Good to hear from you!

The griddle requires a 20amp supply, domestic plugs are rated at 13amp.

Hook ups at shows are 16 or 32 amps, so you will always need a large hook up.

Most average generators would at best supply 60% of what the griddle needs, petrol is very costly to run compared to gas.

Personally, albeit a bargain, whatever you may have saved will be lost on running costs and up rating the electric supply.

Hope this helps, wishing you the best of luck,
Brian
