Street Traders License Legislation in Scotland

As an Environmental Health Officer working in a Scottish licensing section I would like to clarify a point regarding the need for a street traders license.

The legislation in Scotland is completely different and the criteria for the need of a street traders license is NOT whether or not you are on private land, but whether or not the public has unrestricted access to you. This is the same in all 32 Councils in Scotland.

We also have a national standard for mobile food traders which applies across the country.

Licsence required to set up a pop corn, candy floss in Aberdeen, Scotland
by: Rodyna

Hi,

A new park is about to be opened in our area Aberdeen, Scotland and I would like to set up a cart over weekends to sell popcorn, candy floss and ice cream!

What licences and permissions are needed? What's the best suppliers of carts and machines in the area?

Thanks
