Starting a Fish and Chip Catering Business

Hi, I would love to get my own mobile fish and chip van, and maybe do my local area at weekends.

However would there be much call for fish and chips during the day or is there any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Marie.

Good Idea
by: Anonymous

Hi, the other person`s comment was so negative. I reckon you need to see what the local marketplace is like - who would buy from you, etc.
Otherwise - a mobile fish n`chippy is a great idea - but perhaps stick to busy spots rather than just drive around as petrol will get expensive.
Look for sites that are busy with through-fare traffic or walkbys - places like playing grounds, near supermarkets, edge of a village park, communal amenitities, schools during the day (though check about council bylaws and police checks on selling/being around young people),

Good on you

A More Varied Menu Choice For Your Small Business
by: Anonymous

Hi Marie,

It always better to have a varied menu and to feed the masses. Fish and chips is a great dish but unfortunately it’s considered an expensive purchase

You would be better creating a more varied and affordable menu choices that people can afford to buy from you every day, to keep the money rolling in.

By all means sell fish and chips but also include the usual healthy options alongside the usual cheeseburgers, and hot dogs.

All the best with your potential business.

Regards
David
