Pitching in Lay-By's Snack Bar

by Mrs Hunter
(Highland)

I am hoping to start up a snack bar and wondered what the laws are on pitching in laybys? I live in a relatively small area so do not want to go and upset anyone by just turning up.

Is there a moral code of conduct that I should follow?

I am obviously not going to set up just any old where but there are many, many view points near me that are very busy in the summer and I was hoping to start there.

Many thanks xx

Snack Wagon on Lay-By
by: David

Hello There,

The best advice I can give you it to find out the exact location of the lay-bys you want to trade on. You will then need to get in contact with either the local council or the highways agency and ask for permission to trade.

This is first starting point, when/if you get permission than it’s just a matter of getting your snack bar and running.

Best of luck
David
