Display Fridge/freezer for Mobile Catering Trailer

Hi there great site

I’ve just purchased my first trailer and now I’m setting it up hopefully to fill everyone’s needs.

But I’m a bit stuck with the fridge and freezer I would like to get a display fridge for the pop etc and a undercounted freezer.

I know they have to be fitted with brackets or some form of a secure device, but can I use just a standard fridge or freezer, and are they safe to be driven around.

Also I will probably have to take the stock out and put it in another fridge. Is it ok to keep unplugging them in trailer then starting them back up and getting them up to temperature any help would be great?

Fridge and Freezer for Mobile Catering
by: David

Hi There,

It’s not going to be a problem to use a standard and freezer. I use to have this set-up in one of my catering vans; display fridge and normal undercounted fridge and never had a problem. When I arrived home just plugged the fridges back into the mains which kept all food and drinks at the right temperature. This is especially important during the hot summer months.

Also use a bungee strap to wrap around the fridge and fit fridge locks to stop everything falling out and onto the floor.

Best of luck and keep going.
