What are the Requirements to Run Mobile Catering Business from Static Caravan?

What certificates would I need to sell food from a static caravan? Also, IS IT LEGAL TO CONVERT A CARAVAN so food can be sold from it.

Hi Lisa,
Firstly it may be cheaper to buy a catering trailer or one that needs a little work, and convert it, rather than converting a whole caravan. I am not sure if it?s going to be cost effective for you.

Especially if you have to rip out all the insides install proper plumbing, worktops, vents, hatch, right size LPG gas pipes, hoses etc. (never mind the equipment)

Also, I heard it mentioned that you may not be able to get an LPG gas certificates for a converted caravan, not sure if this is correct or not. Contact a qualified LPG safety tester/engineer and find out before you do anything.

The other certificates you will need include:

-Food and Hygiene certificate
-Liability insurance ? Trailer insurance
-Register with Local Council
-Gas/Electric Certificate for trailer
