LPG Certificate For Pop Up Stall
by: Brian

Hello Neil,

Gas safety (certificates) annual safety checks do not apply to gazebo pop up kitchens as they are not fixed installations. Which is tricky when organisers ask for something that isn't applicable - a gas safety test includes a leak test and certifies it for a year, not achievable for something assembled for each use.

I issue a service certificate to each appliance stating this, also that gas safety checks complying with regulation 26 section 9 of GSIUR have been applied, use of the equipment should be to PUWER and the manufacturers instructions, the installation set up to UKLPG CoP24, part 4.

I suggest you have your own safe use of lpg guide laminated, which you show to EHO or event staff.

Complicated isn't it.

Yes you need a gas rail, bs3212/2 orange hose should be as short as practicable, an unworkable bulletin came out stating hoses to be a maximum of 700mm in length a couple of years ago. Cylinders must be stable, restrained and 1m from any combustibles, not near public or ignition sources. All flexible hoses must be less than 2 years from date of fitment and secured with 'o' ring clips not jubilee clips (worm drive).

Hope that helps?

Regards,
Brian
