Start Mobile Catering - What to Do with Food at Night?

by Gareth
(London)

Hi

I'm looking into mobile catering at the moment with a view to setting up a business next year, probably making things and trading from a van with a grill in the back

This may be a really stupid question but something is confusing me looking at the info online: what do I do with food I don't sell during the day? Obviously meat/ dairy will need to be refeigerated and I don't believe there will be space at home. Is there Any way to keep onboard grudges cold without running a wire from the house: I live on a and don't have a dedicated driveway so would appreciate any info on this

Thanks for your help

Mobile Catering - Store Food at Night
by: David

To be honest with you – you will need to find a way to plug you catering trailer/van into the mains each night to keep food at the right temperature, or store in a separate fridge/freezer possibly in the house or garden garage. You will also have to register as a food business and will be inspected like any other food business.

Ask your local council for more details, failing this unless you know someone with a commercial kitchen who may be able to help you out.

Thanks for your help

Best of luck
David
