Instant Gas Hot Water Too Much Black Smoke

by Jivey
(Samoa)

Hi there i have an instant hot water LPG heater 6L capacity, it has been working fine until recently when it started to emit large amounts of black smoke from the flue staining the surroundings.

When i checked i found that the parts of the regulator were suspect, so i have replaced it with a new regulator, but i am still getting black smoke, which can only be reduced by minimising the gas flow and water flow to minimal amounts.

What can i do and why is the black smoke present, i am assuming unburnt fuel?

LPG Heater Problems
by: David

Hi there,

Your best course of action is to get a qualified LPG gas engineer to come out and look at your LPG appliance as I am not expert. Or you could try contacting the manufactures of your LPG heater to see if they can offer some assistance.

It could be down to a number of things i.e bad fuel nozzle, partially plugged fuel filter, or a low voltage but to make sure please use suitably trained expert in your area, sorry I can?t be of more help

Best of luck
David
