Food Storage Mobile Catering Business

(Havant)

Hi am starting my mobile catering business in the New Year. Can't wait to get going, just one niggling question though, can I power the fridge and freezer in my van over night using a big enough power inverter connected to 2 12v batteries?

Thanks.

Dan

Power Inverter
by: Frank

i own a burger van as well and spend around £15.00 a day just to run a fridge freezer, lights and a dink fridge.
I bought myself 2 110ah leissure Batteries and a 3000w pure sin wave inverter plus a 40amp charger at a total cost of £600 !
I am now able to run all my electric for around 6h after 6h hours i run my generator for 1h to charge the batteries again for another 6h !!

Hi Dan,

This is something that I’m not entirely sure about, but I believe you can as long as you have a big enough converted and use the right type of cable.

Both fridges and freezers require a lot of power to initially start up so your best bet may be to use a sine wave inverter, which produce pure AC current.

The only thing is these are not cheap, as I said I’m not expert, so I would you do some research or contact a specialist to make sure.

The last thing you want is to buy the wrong inverted which does not have the power to run your appliances.

Best of luck
David
