Do I Have to Pay Rent For My Trading Spot?

by Rochelle

I am interested in starting a mobile catering business. I wanted to know do I have to pay rent on my trading spot.

Also since I do not have a mobile van or trailer yet will I have to pay a deposit to secure a trading spot until I purchase my trailer or van?

Lastly, approximately how much should I expect to spend out to get started with my mobile catering business?

Council Or Private Land?

Hi Rochelle, It all depends on where you get to trade from, if you get a pitch on an industrial estate then you may not have to pay rent, if however you find a pitch on private land , the land owner may wish to charge you some sort of rent in exchange for using the land.

Also why not consider hiring a catering trailer to test the waters for a few months. This will give you a chance to see if you like mobile catering, and if you would seriously like pursue it as a full time business.
