Bought a Burger Van Finding It Hard to Get Started At Events

by Jacqueline

Hi

My friend and I have bought a burger van this is proving extremely difficult to get started for events. We have been approved by the environmental health and whilst contacting our local council for an events sheet, they have now told us we have to basically bid to secure a pitch?

How on earth as "newbies" would we even know how much to start at? This is not going to make us give up; surely there is a easier way around this!!

I really hope you can help as I am not going to succumb to the reaps of my possible income going to the local rip off council whilst, all I am doing is trying to make a decent living for myself and my family

In the long run I would like to deliver exceptional good tasty fast food to enjoy and for members of the public to enjoy my food and come back for more. It would also be great if in time I could establish a reputable name for us to progress into a larger chain of fast food mobile vans

Contacting Event Organisers
by: David

Hi Jacqueline,

As long as you have registered with your local council (environmental health) you are free to contact any number of event organisers to find a pitch for different events.

Try looking in your area for up and coming events, or to contact events organisers from around the country get a copy of the Events Book Guide – which you will have to pay for.

Their webiste address is: www.eventsbook.co.uk

Also try retail concessions, www.retailconcessions.co.uk

Who manage catering pitches for quite a few big retailers like B&Q, Homebase and a few others. People also sell their catering pitches on eBay and Gumtree so it’s also worth looking at these 2 websites.

Best of luck, don’t give up keep moving forward with your business, your are nearly there.
